CDC investing $10M into bird flu response among farmworkers

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investing $10m into the federal bird flu response for livestock workers. Nine cases of bird flu have been confirmed in Colorado, but the CDC maintains the risk to the general public is low. The CDC’s investment will be used for outreach, education, and seasonal influenza vaccines for livestock workers, to prevent potential co-infections of bird flu and influenza and reduce the risk of new versions of the virus emerging.
