Cedars-Sinai research shows deep learning model could improve AFib detection

Investigators at Cedars-Sinai’s Smidt Heart Institute have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) that can detect irregular heart rhythms, often linked with atrial fibrillation, that may otherwise be missed by doctors. The deep-learning model, which analysed over 100,000 echocardiogram videos, was also able to predict which patients may develop atrial fibrillation within the next 90 days.
