UnitedHealth Group’s Change Healthcare is notifying individuals affected by a February cyberattack, potentially compromising data such as medical records and personal information for up to a third of Americans. Stolen by an affiliate of the BlackCat ransomware group, Change Healthcare is offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection. Despite the attack resulting in $872m in operational costs, UnitedHealth Group maintained solid adjusted earnings and is taking proactive financial measures.
