Change Healthcare cyberattack having ‘far-reaching’ effects on providers

UnitedHealth-owned Change Healthcare has reported a major cyberattack, which has greatly affected providers and disrupted operations. The ransomware group AlphV claimed responsibility for the attack. The technology firm, which handles 15 billion healthcare transactions a year, reported network issues which were later identified to be a cyberattack. The impact of the attack has been significant and widespread, particularly affecting the processing of healthcare payments and prescriptions.
