‘Change management is key’ for maintaining remote cybersecurity

Kat Jercich November 5, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the risks of ransomware attacks on healthcare facilities and hospitals. A lack of resources and staff, as well as the expansion of telehealth and remote patient monitoring, have made the healthcare sector more vulnerable to cyber threats. Steps to address these concerns include change management, educating patients on secure practices, creating distraction-free environments for clinicians, and ensuring communication about security measures. Collaboration with trusted vendors and ongoing innovation with security in mind are also necessary. The topic will be discussed at the HIMSS Cybersecurity Forum in December.
