Researchers used AI technology ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, to help analyse the structure and purpose of a variety of malware samples. The technology can create custom malware families, and is being used by hackers to design features for dark web marketplaces. However, when the complexity of malware code samples was increased, the AI struggled, suggesting that while it can explain simple malware samples effectively, it is not yet capable of tackling real-world scenarios.
