Check Point Research Reports Highest Increase of Global Cyber Attacks Seen in Last Two Years

Check Point Research’s Q2 2024 report reveals a 30% YoY increase in global cyber attacks due to factors including digital transformation and the rise of AI and machine learning in cybercrime. The Education/Research industry saw the most attacks, while regions like Latin America, Africa, and Europe recorded the largest increases. Ransomware and phishing attacks driven by economic and geopolitical motivations were common. There was a particular increase in ransomware attacks in the Hardware Vendor industry and a high volume of cyber attacks in Africa.
