Children’s mental health records published after cyber attack

NHS Dumfries and Galloway has confirmed children’s mental health data was published on the dark web after a cyber attack. The volume of patient data released still isn’t known but could affect thousands of individuals. The Scottish government, police, and the National Cyber Security Centre are working to assess the published information. The health board CEO, Julie White, apologized to patients and staff and stated the hack was unprecedented and described it as an “utterly abhorrent criminal act.”
