China-Linked Budworm Targeting Middle Eastern Telco and Asian Government Agencies

China-linked threat actor Budworm has launched cyber-attacks on a Middle Eastern telecommunication company and an Asian government using an updated malware toolkit named SysUpdate. Tracked since 2013, Budworm is infamous for targeting a variety of industries, using tools like China Chopper web shell, Gh0st RAT and PlugX, among others, to extract valuable data and ensure long-term access to secured systems.
