China’s APT41 Targets Taiwan Research Institute for Cyber Espionage

China-related cyber threat group APT41 has compromised a Taiwan government-affiliated institute conducting research on advanced technologies. The group used various malware tools, including ShadowPad and Cobalt Stike, to exploit the institute’s systems. APT41 has been linked to cyber espionage and cyberattacks globally since 2012. The US indicted multiple members of APT41 in 2020, but this has failed to hinder their activities.
