These processes, which originated in the 1970s, limit the number of embryos created, due to reduced medication and egg production, avoiding any discard of extra embryos. Earlier this year, Alabama defined embryos as children, while numerous states are considering similar rights, with the Catholic Church and Southern Baptist Convention expressing opposition to traditional IVF.
