Cigna scaling back Medicare Advantage footprint in 8 states next year

Health insurer Cigna is pulling back its Medicare Advantage offerings in 2023, affecting 36 plans in eight US states. This is part of a trend of private Medicare plans trying to maintain profits amid rising costs from senior users. Although a majority of these plans have a low membership count, most markets will still have access to another Cigna Medicare Advantage plan.
