The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has awarded $2 million to organizations NPower and CyberWarrior to develop cybersecurity workforce training programs. The aim is to address the shortage of cybersecurity professionals, particularly among underserved communities. The program will focus on providing training, hands-on experience, and job placement. The initiative comes amid escalating ransomware attacks on critical infrastructure and efforts to strengthen cybersecurity in both the public and private sectors. Director of CISA, Jen Easterly, emphasized the importance of diversity in solving cyber challenges.
