The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has identified vulnerabilities in radiology tools from GE, including CT and PET scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasounds. These vulnerabilities could allow hackers to access protected health and imaging information, alter data, and shut down machines. The flaw has been given a severity rating of 9.8. GE is working with CISA to address the issue. There have been no reported incidents of unauthorized access or exploitation of the vulnerability. Basic security measures and configurations are recommended to mitigate the risk.
