CISOs on job market could benefit from breach experience, report says

The rise of cybersecurity threats in healthcare has led to an increased focus on the role of chief information security officer (CISO). A report by Optiv found that many health organizations are willing to hire a CISO who has experienced a data breach. Despite this, the basic security functions such as scanning for and patching network vulnerabilities are still lacking. CISOs are seen as crucial in understanding the business demands of cybersecurity and some are even being considered for CEO positions.
