City of Columbus sues man after he discloses severity of ransomware attack
A judge has barred a security researcher from accessing city files posted to the dark web by ransomware group Rhysida. The group stole 6.5 terabytes of data from Columbus, Ohio, and auctioned it online. Researcher David Ross claimed that the stolen data included sensitive information on city employees and residents. Officials then sued Ross for invasion of privacy and issued a restraining order against him.
