Cleveland Clinic, IBM to lead new quantum computing for health projects

The Wellcome Trust has chosen the Cleveland Clinic-IBM Discovery Accelerator for developing quantum computing applications in biologic and health sciences as part of the Wellcome Leap Quantum for Bio Challenge. The team could receive up to $50 million for their work on technologies for predicting protein structures and developing photon-activated cancer drugs. The Cleveland Clinic and IBM have installed a quantum system dedicated to health research as part of their 10-year partnership.
