Cleveland Clinic’s new Mentor Hospital is a 5G mmWave test bed

Cleveland Clinic’s Mentor Hospital has kickstarted the use of a private 5G network for healthcare provision. The Lake County hospital aims to meet demand for high-speed connections and cybersecurity with the Ericsson-built system. The Mentor Hospital is intended to serve relatively non-critical patients with short stays, and will be equipped with 34 inpatient rooms and four operating rooms. The 5G service will offer patients the ability to access information and entertainment channels, while also being used for administrative functions.
