Client data exfiltrated in Advanced NHS cyber attack

Healthcare software provider Advanced has confirmed that client data was accessed and extracted by hackers using a LockBit 3.0 malware variant during a financially-motivated cyber-attack in August 2022. The breach affected around 16 users of their care home management software, Staffplan and Caresys. The company has since been working on recovery and assurance processes overseen by the National Cyber Security Centre, the NHS, and NHS Digital.
