Birst, a business analytics software provider, accidentally exposed a storage bucket, leaving hacking instructions visible to the public on the internet. The exposed file illustrates how Birst’s cloud-based, data storage repository can be compromised. However, none of the firm’s customer data was exposed by the revelation, and no-one is thought to have downloaded the file during the two months it was available online.
