Financial publisher Dow Jones & Co failed to secure a cloud-based file repository that kept details of the private information of subscribers and their financial activities. As many as four million subscribers to the Wall Street Journal and the publisher’s other titles had names, addresses, account information, email addresses and the last four digits of credit card numbers unlocked, according to cyber risk recovery firm UpGuard. The incoming file revealed data from the Dow Jones Risk and Compliance system, which is used by banks to comply with money laundering regulations.
