The government has allocated $450 million for a job training program that will target 270 community colleges in the US. Many of these colleges are planning to offer courses in health IT. The aim of the program is to help job seekers acquire skills needed for in-demand jobs in industries such as IT, healthcare, energy, and advanced manufacturing. Several community colleges in Maryland are partnering with employers to develop training pathways for low-income workers in IT and cybersecurity. In addition, there are grants allocated to a new Ivy Tech Computing and Informatics School in Indiana, and to Virginia State University for wireless industry training.
