Researchers from Kaspersky have discovered a versatile malware called NKAbuse, targeting Linux systems in Colombia, Mexico, Vietnam, and IoT devices. The malware exploits the NKN blockchain-oriented peer-to-peer protocol and can function as a backdoor for unauthorized access and launch damaging DDoS attacks. NKNAbuse, which is capable of extracting information from infected systems, uses blockchain tech to hide its malicious code. Kaspersky recommends keeping systems updated and deploying endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions to prevent attacks.
