Complying with Confidence: Navigating Cybersecurity Regulation and Legislation

A panel of cybersecurity leaders discussed the shifting role of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) at SafeBreach’s 2023 Validate Summit. Compliance with more business regulations and cyber liability insurance has become a significant part of the role. The panel stressed that compliance does not equal protection, and security hygiene and organizational resilience need more attention. They also discussed the necessity and limitations of cyber liability insurance and the importance of preparing boards and C-suites for future cybersecurity regulation. New disclosure requirements from the SEC will take effect on December 15, 2023.
