Concern as personal data of 284 diabetic patients breached at NHS Highland
The NHS Highland data breach led to the unauthorised disclosure of personal information of 284 diabetes patients to more than 30 people. The incident, which happened on November 17, involved revealing names, dates of birth, contact details, hospital identification numbers and attendance records. No medical history data was shared. NHS Highland, which reported the breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office, has apologised, contacted the affected patients, and is reviewing its internal controls.
