Concerns over strike by junior doctors following heatwave
NHS leaders are anticipating a “major disruption” due to the heatwave and upcoming junior doctors’ strike. The health service is already struggling due to the heatwave and there are concerns about how the strike will impact hospitals still recovering from the recent cyber attack. However, some junior doctors will be permitted to work at certain London hospitals during the strike to prevent dangerous delays to cancer treatments. The ongoing dispute over pay has prompted 11 walkouts by junior doctors so far.
