Conti-linked ransomware takes in $107 million in ransoms: Report

Black Basta, a ransomware campaign linked to the notorious Conti malware gang, has reportedly received over $100m in ransom payments within 18 months, infecting 329 known victims mainly from manufacturing and engineering companies. Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic and Corvus Insurance identified 90 ransom payments, averaging at $1.2m each. Black Basta is spread via a Qakbot malware via phishing emails with a potential connection to the Russian exchange, Garantex.
