Covid-19: ‘Major incident’ declared by London Mayor Sadiq Khan

London Mayor, Sadiq Khan has declared a “major incident” as Covid-19 continues to run rampant in the city, with infection rates exceeding 1,000 per 100,000 people. The virus spread is “out of control,” with over 7,000 people in hospital due to Covid-19, a 35% increase on the April 2020 peak, and many parts of the city reporting a rise in deaths.
