Critical incident declared as cyber attack affects major London hospitals
Pathology service provider Synnovis has been hit by a major IT incident reportedly caused by a ransomware attack, causing disruptions to services at Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts and primary care services in southeast London. Procedures and operations have been cancelled or redirected, with blood transfusions particularly affected. The impact of the cyber attack is being investigated by the National Cyber Security Centre in collaboration with Synnovis.
