Critical incident declared as cyber attack affects major London hospitals

A major IT incident at Synnovis, the partner of NHS pathology services in London, has disrupted blood transfusions as well as other procedures and operations. Synnovis, created by SynLab UK & Ireland, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is working with the NHS to understand the impact of the ransomware cyber attack. Reports suggest the attack could affect urgent and emergency care due to lack of access to blood test results.
