Critical incident declared as cyber attack affects major London hospitals

UK pathology provider Synnovis has been hit by a ransomware cyber attack, seriously affecting services at hospitals and primary care services in London, including King’s College Hospital, Guy’s, and St Thomas’. The breach has led to a delay in services, particularly affecting blood transfusions, and has resulted in some hospital procedures and operations being cancelled. Synnovis are working with law enforcement, the Information Commissioner, the National Cyber Security Centre, and its own cyber team to address the impact of the attack.
