Critical incident declared as cyber attack affects major London hospitals

London’s major hospitals have had to cancel operations and lost blood transfusions due to a major IT incident at pathology services provider, Synnovis. The company, a partnership between SynLab UK & Ireland, and the NHS, was the victim of a ransomware cyber attack which has significantly affected services. Both Synnovis and the NHS are assessing the impact and taking action, with law enforcement and the Information Commissioner also informed.
