Critical incident declared as London hospitals cancel operations due to ‘cyber attack’

London hospitals, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Kings College, have cancelled surgeries amidst a critical incident prompted by a suspected cyber attack. The IT breach is said to have affected blood transfusion services, causing some to be relocated to other facilities. It is understood a ransomware cyberattack hit partnership Synnovis’ IT systems, disrupting pathology services. The incident has been reported to law enforcement and the Information Commissioner.
