Critical incident over London hospitals’ cyber-attack

London hospitals have cancelled some operations and diverted others following a cyber-attack on pathology services provider Synnovis. The attack affected healthcare providers including King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ and primary care services, hampering access to blood transfusions and test results. Certain departments were unable to connect to the main server, resulting in procedures being cancelled or redirected. The NHS apologised and said emergency care was still available while IT experts assessed the impact.
