Cyber attack affects two south England ambulance services

Two UK ambulance trusts that serve 12 million people, including South Central Ambulance Service and South Western Ambulance Service, have lost access to electronic patient records following a cyber attack on a third-party tech firm, Ortivus, they use. NHS England, working alongside the police, confirmed it is investigating the incident and trying to reconnect the systems. While the standard of care remains high, ambulances are currently operating without access to vital patient medical history.
