Cyber attack hits major London hospitals

Major London hospitals declare a critical incident after a cyber attack on pathology services provider Synnovis. The attack caused the cancellation of operations, hit blood transfusions, and led to patient redirection. Its extent of harm to operations is still being assessed. The Health Journal reports it was possibly a ransomware attack, with access to pathology results taking “weeks, not days”, impacting urgent and emergency care due to delayed blood test results.
