Cyber attack hits two ambulance trusts leaving hospitals without access to electronic patient records

A cyber attack on a supplier has left the South Central Ambulance Service and South Western Ambulance Service unable to access electronic patient records. The two services cover an area in England with a population of 12 million. While the incident may cause slight delays at hospitals as crews revert to pencil and paper, the 999 call system remains unaffected.
