Cyber-Attacks Caused 18 Days of NHS Downtime

More than 17% of National Health Service (NHS) trusts in England experienced downtime due to security breaches, leading to more than 18 days of IT outages in the past three years, according to IT solutions provider Intercity Technology. Freedom of Information data responses from 80 trusts out of a total of more than 240 showed 25 had suffered IT outages. The WannaCry, Locky and Zepto ransomware variants were responsible for much of the downtime.
