Cyber attacks on London’s hospitals affect 800 planned operations

A cyber attack on Synnovis, a pathology services provider, resulted in the rescheduling of more than 800 planned operations and 700 outpatient appointments in London hospitals. Five planned Caesarean sections had to be rescheduled and 18 organs were redirected to other trusts. The attack has significantly reduced the number of tests that can be processed and reported back to clinical teams, and sensitive data may have been accessed.
