Cyber attacks on London’s hospitals affect 800 planned operations

London hospitals were forced to rearrange over 800 planned surgeries and 700 outpatient appointments within a week after a cyber attack on pathology services provider Synnovis. The attack affected King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust the most, causing them to divert organs to other trusts and prioritise blood tests for urgent cases. King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust were the most affected. NHS is working to restore normalcy and Synnovis is also working to recover its IT system.
