Cyber attacks on London’s hospitals continue to disrupt services

London doctors’ surgeries have been disrupted by a cyber attack on Synnovis, an agency managing pathology labs for NHS trusts and GPs in south-east London. Thousands of operations and appointments were cancelled and blood testing reduced to urgent and critical cases. Recovery is expected to take weeks. Junior doctors, striking over pay, have been given permission to return to work under safety grounds by the British Medical Association (BMA) in some hospitals affected by the cyber attack.
