Cyber breach costs approach $10M, but are heightened and reduced by AI

The cost of cybersecurity attacks has risen by 10% over the past year, making it the biggest annual increase since the pandemic began. However, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation have played a major role in reducing the cost of data breaches, according to IBM Security’s 2024 Cost of a Data Breach Report. Research revealed that extensive use of AI can save organizations an average of $2.2 million in breach costs. As a result, IBM recommends investing in AI-driven defenses to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
