Cyber crime – National Crime Agency

Cyber crime is on the rise, with businesses increasingly targeted over individuals. Last year saw a significant rise in high-profile ransomware campaigns that leaked personal data, endangering lives and services. Tactics are adapting as awareness of potential profits grows and less technically adept criminals are able to commit cyber crime. The National Cyber Security Centre has urged individuals and businesses to take basic security steps to prevent cyber attacks.
