Cyber hackers who stole Scots NHS patients’ private data linked to Russian government
Hackers affiliated with the Russian government are linked to the theft and publication of private data from thousands of Scottish NHS patients, according to cyber crime firm PRODAFT and expert Kortak Uzan. The attackers used different ‘brand’ names, with both NHS Dumfries and Galloway and a blood testing firm targeted, causing extensive disruption. Stolen patient data included names, DOBs, addresses and diagnoses.
