Cybercrimes costing Aussie small businesses $39,000 on average

Australia experienced a rise in cybercrimes by 23% over the past year, with a crime reported every six minutes, says the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). Australia is a high target due to its wealth and large internet-user population. Majority of the attacks were from state actors China, Russia, and Iran. A large number of the cybercrimes could be avoided through regular data backup, updating applications and operation systems, and implementation of multi-factor login authentication.
