Cybersecurity coalition calls for integrating medical device, health IT security initiatives

The Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) has released a new report on how to improve the cybersecurity of medical devices. The report, titled “The Medical Device and Health IT Joint Security Plan,” emphasizes the need for organizations to integrate cybersecurity measures into their existing processes and commit to implementing the plan. The report states that as medical devices become more connected, there is an increasing potential for patient harm and disruption of care due to cybersecurity concerns.
