Cybersecurity firm warns of 20 million active ransomware attempts in last 24 hours
Cybersecurity specialist Barracuda has reported that in a 24-hour period, there were 20 million attempts at a ransomware attack through an email attachment. This comes shortly after researchers at AppRiver found that hackers had sent over 23 million infected emails in a single day. Barracuda recommends using an email security service to stop attacks before they reach a network. The ransomware strain identified is known as Locky, which has proven difficult to crack.
