Cybersecurity pros predict rise of malicious AI

Three-quarters of cybersecurity professionals believe malicious artificial intelligence (AI) capable of circumventing security measures is imminent, with 26% anticipating it within a year, according to a report by Enea. It also found that phishing, social engineering and malware were seen as the top threats likely to be enhanced by AI, while AI adoption in cybersecurity remains low, with 61% of organisations yet to deploy it meaningfully. However, 68% of respondents expect a budget increase for AI initiatives within two years.
