A national survey of healthcare IT decision makers has found that preventing patient data breaches is their top priority. However, many organizations still need to work on compliance with security regulations. The survey also found that securing patient information and preventing unauthorized access to clinical applications are the biggest security concerns. 97% of respondents said that HIPAA and HITECH regulations are influencing their purchasing decisions, and 74% plan to spend more on security in 2010 compared to 2009.
