Data from NHS cyber attack ‘published online by cyber criminal group’

London-based pathology service provider Synnovis suffered a cyber attack by Russian group, Qilin, resulting in hundreds of operations and appointments being cancelled. The group publicly released approximately 400GB of data, including patient information and financial dealings between Synnovis and NHS hospitals. Authorities are working to determine the extent of the published data, with more than 1,100 operations and 2,100 outpatient appointments delayed to date. Urgent and emergency services are reportedly unaffected.
